VISUAL IDENTY can be defined as the sum of visual elements by which the public recognizes an institution and by which it differs from the others.
Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the Republic of Moldova has a number of symbols, such as: logo, slogan, flag, letterhead, the color of the institution and other elements. If used properly, they help to create, maintain and promote the image of our institution. A unitary concept of visual identity consolidates the image of the University in the public perception, and makes it easily recognizable from the multitude of local and foreign higher education institutions.
To ensure the correct and efficient use of the University's symbols, an Identity Manual has been developed, which comes with certain recommendations for both the members of the university community and its partners. See below how you can help promote the image of the institution.
The manual also includes certain suggestions as regards communication with media representatives as well as some useful writing rules for all members of Nicolae Testemitanu State University. The logo of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy is a symbolic graphic composition, representing a heraldic shield above which there is an academic cap. Under the shield, the slogan Lucendo Aliis Ego Ipse Ardeo! is written on a yellow ribbon.

As previously mentioned, the logo also contains the slogan Lucendo Aliis Ego Ipse Ardeo!, which expresses the belief of university’s professors, students and graduates - Burning like a candel, you light the way for others!
Another important element is the flag of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, which has on the left side the University logo placed at the intersection of two pairs of parallel red lines. The white color is associated with the white medical robe and the white sheet of paper on which knowledge is recorded in order to be perpetuated.
The flag is flown on the study blocks and on other buildings of the University. It can appear on various protocol objects, promotional materials, stamp issues and can be used in official actions, scientific, festive, cultural, and sports events, etc.
In case of hoisting or placing the flag of the University next to the state flag of the Republic of Moldova, the former is placed in a secondary position, more to the right or lower, and its linear dimensions cannot exceed the dimensions of the state flag.

The letterhead constitutes a distinctive element of the University to be used for official documents (orders, letters, certificates, etc.). It contains the logo, the name of the University and the contact details of the institution. The letterhead may be signed only by the rector or by a person empowered for this purpose by order of the rector (eg: vice-rectors by fields of activity). Some subdivisions, such as: the Department of Communication and Public Relations, the Department of Human Resources, the Department of External Relations and European Integration, the Department of Continuing Medical Education, the Health Sciences Library may have a personalized letterhead. It is developed by DCRP, upon request, in accordance with the style of the institutional letterhead.

The business card is another identity element that defines the employee’s affiliation to the University. Employees wishing to make business cards, according to the established models (a or b), can request the model from the Communication and Public Relations Department, which is also available in the University Information Management System.
At the same time, it is recommended that all members of the university community use the institutional personalized PowerPoint personalized template to create presentations, especially in case of trips abroad in order to participate in congresses, conferences, activities carried out within international projects, etc.
It is recommended to place the images below on the desktop of the University computers. They can be downloaded here and will provide an extra image, proving the institutional affiliation of each user.
